She was awarded the Employee of the Year Award in 1993 presented by Governor Tom Carper. Gloria was also the bookkeeper for Charles Messina Plumbing and Electric. She spent countless hours playing the guitar, singing, and directing her grandchildren in holiday plays. Gloria was very active in her church, serving on the Sodality at St. Polycarp Church, and later joining the Contemporary Choir at Holy Cross Church, where her love for both God and music was fulfilled.
Her son, Anthony, and his wife, Marcia, opened their home to Mom Gloria in 2010 and lovingly cared for her until her passing.
