Eleanor Ellie Lauckner's Obituary
Eleanor “Ellie” Lauckner, 92, died peacefully on March 2, 2024, at Westminster Village, Dover, DE. She was born in Queens, NY on June 16, 1931, the daughter of Rose (Trissler) and Andrew Wagner and sister to Artie and Richard. The family moved to Cliffside Park, NJ where Ellie graduated from the local high school and then went to Packard Secretarial School in New York City, graduating in 1948. She had a variety of positions over the years, her last was as Personnel Supervisor at Cytec Industries in Wayne, NJ. Ellie met her husband Alan K. Lauckner, Jr, in 1954 and they were married in 1956 at the Lutheran Church in Cliffside Park, NJ. They lived in Packanack Lake in Wayne, NJ for 45 years and then retired to Milford, DE. In 2016 Ellie and Alan celebrated 60 years of marriage with the family in Cape May, NJ, the place where they first met. In 2018 Ellie moved to Westminster Village. Ellie was predeceased by her husband, Alan and her daughter, Nancy Sereno. Surviving are her three sons, Kenny and his wife Donna of Verona, NJ; Andy and his wife Laura of Wayne, NJ; Bert, of Sunrise, FL; and son-in-law Michael Sereno of Towaco, NJ. She also has six granddaughters; Erin, Alana, Andrea, Kaitlyn, Lindsay and Kelsey and two great grandsons, Harrison and Cameron. Ellie enjoyed knitting, reading, beach vacations, traveling and getting together with family and friends. She and Alan visited every state Capitol in the U.S. and many countries in Europe and Asia. She also enjoyed volunteering and was on many committees at her church over the years, including Packanack Community Church in Wayne and Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford. She was proud to serve on the Board of The Women’s Auxiliary at Milford Memorial Hospital (Bay Health) and spent years volunteering at the hospital gift shop. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2024 at Packanack Community Church, 120 Lake Drive East, Wayne, NJ
