Edna Mae Wheeler's Obituary
Edna Mae Wheeler, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 3, 1941, in Ridgely, Maryland, Edna (Clark) Wheeler was the daughter of the late Roland James Clark and Edna Ruth Clark. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to raising her children and serving her family. Edna and her late husband shared a love of camping, traveling, and being actively involved in their home church. She faithfully volunteered by driving the church school bus, helping in the nursery, and working in the church school cafeteria.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Samuel Darwin Wheeler; her sisters, Doris Lomax and Bessie Hughes; and her grandsons, Skyler Wheeler and Kyle Teeter.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Vozzo; her six children—Denise Mortenson, Earl Wayne Wheeler (Betsy), Bonnie Knisley, Tammy Teeter (Fred), John Wheeler (Deborah), and Michael Wheeler (Jennifer); as well as 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Capitol Baptist Church, 401 Kesselring Ring Ave., Dover, DE 19904. Interment will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover.
