Edmund Sheinall Lucas' Obituary
Edmund Sheinall Lucas was born February 9, 1940 to the late Ernest and Lilly B. Lucas in Philadelphia, PA. The Lord called him home on November 13, 2024 after a long battle with multiple myeloma and renal disease.
Ed, as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Philadelphia school system. He received a bachelor’s degree from New School for Social Research in New York City. He served 30 years in the United State Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. He loved to travel, doing line and couples dancing, and enjoying life to the fullest. Ed maintained a sense of humor until the very end. He met who eventually turned out to be the love of his life, Jacqueline Upchurch, when they were both 9 years old. They began dating in high school and married February 25, 1961. From this union, two sons Edmund II and Ricardo were born.
Preceding him in death, his parents and brother Henry (Frank) Lucas. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Jacqueline, sons Edmund and Ricardo, brother Emory, two grandchildren Edmund III and Sarah, 5 great grandchildren Edmund IV, Ella, Elijah, Olivia, and Ethan, a host of nieces nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
