Doris C Semans' Obituary
Doris C. Semans passed away on September 7, 2017 at Bayhealth Kent Campus surrounded by her loving family. She was the 6th child of 9 born on August 30, 1933 in Medford, New Jersey, to Joseph and Laura Consalo, Sr.
Doris worked for the Department of Motor Vehicle where she was the Supervisor of Driver Improvement and retired after 25 years of service.
She was a lifelong active member of the Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary where she held many offices including past presidents of Magnolia Ladies Auxiliary, Kent County Volunteer Firefighter Association Ladies Auxiliary and the Delaware Volunteer Firefighter Association Ladies Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Joseph Jr, Vince, and Harry and her sisters Rita and Dorothy.
Doris lived in Magnolia for most of her life and is survived by her husband of 66 years Herbert L. Semans, Sr.; sons & daughters-in-law Herb Jr & Gail; Ken & Janice; Ed & Donna; her 10 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren; her sisters Mildred Pollock & Laura Wray; brother Edward Consalo; sister-in-law Betty Jane Hobbs; & many, many nieces & nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Sharon Hill Memorial Park.
Many special thanks to the staff in the intensive care unit and 4A at Bayhealth Kent Campus for all their kindness and extremely professional care given to our wife and mom.
