Doris B. Scott, 95, Dover, passed away Sunday February 9, 2014 at her home with family in State Street Assisted Living in Dover.
She was born on August 20, 1918 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late John and Mary Knight Blanner.
Orphaned at age 10, she went to live with her Grandmother in Wilmington, DE. She Graduated from P.S. Dupont High School in Wilmington in 1937. She met and married David R. Mitchell of Ridgely, MD in 1940. She was employed by International Playtex in 1950, retiring in 1980. She is preceded in death by her parents, her only sibling Claudia Jenkins of Little Creek, DE, her first husband Davis R. Mitchell and her second husband John Scott..
She is survived by Son and his wife, John I. "Jack" and Ruth Ann Mitchell of Dover, DE. Daughter, Carolyn Chirillo of Dover, DE. 5 grand daughters, Debbie (Gary) Seward of Dover, DE. Dawn King of Dover, DE., Kristin (Brian) Williams of Carlisle, PA., Libby (Mark) McConville of Birmingham, AL., Jo Ann (Misha) Helms of Atlanta, GA. 11 great Grand child, 1 great Great Grand Child, Step Sons, Joel Scott of , FL. and Peter Scott of Dover, DE.
Services will be held at Wyoming United Methodist Church in Wyoming, DE Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover, DE
Friends may call at the Wyoming United Methodist Church in Wyoming.
The family request that memorial contributions be given to Wyoming United Methodist Church.
