David H Slack's Obituary
David H. Slack, 73, Camden/Wyoming, passed away Monday October 06, 2014 at his home with family.
He was born on July 15, 1941 in Easton, PA to William and Julia Schwar Slack.
Dave worked at ILC Dover in a career that spanned 47 years supporting NASA's space programs. Dave started working at ILC in 1966 as a reliability technician and junior project engineer where he monitored testing and failure analyses for the development and production of all Apollo Spacesuit. In 1977 he became a project engineer responsible for development and production of all aspects of the Shuttle Spacesuit. In the 1990's Dave was critical to enhancement of the Shuttle Spacesuit design that helped NASA astronauts build and service the International Space Station. Until his retirement in 2013, Dave supported the production of spacesuit components that enabled human space exploration, and mentored numerous engineers and technicians in the art of Spacesuit design and manufacture.
He is survived by his Wife of 54 years, Elizabeth A Slack of Wyoming, DE. Son, Kevin D (Lois) Slack of Hartly, DE. Son, Edward J Slack of Wyoming, DE. Sister, Joan Morris, 4 Grand children, Patrick, John, Samuel, Todd (Shea) 6 Great Grandchildren, Jaliyha, John Jr., Brock, Nevaeh, Holden, Liam. and nephews and nieces.
Remembrance Services will be held Monday 10/14/2014 7 PM at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE Burial will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cem. on Tuesday 10/14/2014 11 AM.
Friends may also call Monday 5 PM to 7 PM at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.
