Obituary for David Merle Shelor
David Merle Shelor was born June 11, 1959 and left this world peacefully in his sleep on June 26, 2023. David was a 1977 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School. He was a volunteer coach for Camden-Wyoming Little League and Camden Pop Warner Football League for over 10 years. Many of his former players still called him “Coach”. David worked in the construction industry as a carpenter, mason and seamless rain gutter mechanic for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, hunting, fishing, cooking, classic cars, gardening & LOVED rock and roll music. He was preceded in death by his parents Willard Jefferson and Ann Shelor and his older brother Richard Kelly Shelor. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Susan McPhee Shelor, his sister Lynda Errera, his son David Matthew Shelor (Nathalie), daughter Diana Broadway (Charles), grandchildren Maddox Shelor, Jordan Shelor, Brooklyn Shelor, Madison Shelor, Rowen Broadway and beloved McPhee family members, nieces & nephews, extended family and friends he considered family. He attended Christ Episcopal Church in Dover. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date with family and close friends.
