Daniel Dan Vincent Bailey Jr.'s Obituary
Daniel "Dan" Vincent Bailey Jr., aged 83, of Little Creek, Delaware, passed away on July 13, 2024, in Milford, Delaware. Born on September 10, 1940, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to the late Daniel Vincent Bailey Sr. and Mary (Hicks) Bailey.
He was a respected member of the USAF from 1959 to 1983, dedicating 24 years of service before retiring. During his military career, he was actively involved in the Air Force Motorcycle Club based in Myrtle Beach, where he organized numerous events, fostering a strong community among the members.
Following his military career, Bailey continued to pursue his passions, traveling extensively across the United States with his wife, Betty, and their beloved fur baby, Boonie. They explored every state, visiting State Parks. He enjoyed day trips to Rehoboth Beach for Nic-o-bolis at Nicola's Pizza. He also loved taking Betty dancing. Dan was also a frequent visitor to air shows and had a particular interest in the Air Mobility Museum. His enthusiasm for thrifting and attending yard sales reflected his appreciation for nostalgic treasures.
Dan is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Bailey; sons, Daniel V. Bailey III of Alaska, and Derek Bailey of California; step-son, Earl R. Moore Sr. his wife Judy, and their son, Earl R. Moore Jr. of Smyrna, Delaware; daughter, Suzett Detwiller of Kentucky; brother, George Bailey of New Jersey; sisters, Claudia Custer and her daughter Clyde Custer of New Mexico, and Muriel Gorigi of New Jersey; along with four grandchildren and one step-grandson.
Dan was known for his kind and compassionate nature, always ready to assist anyone in need. His legacy of love, commitment to his family, and service to his country will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
