Dallas Earl Glass Jr.'s Obituary
Dallas E. Glass Jr., affectionally called, “Papa” age 74, of Viola, DE, made his triumphant transition to glory on March 4, 2025. Dallas was born on December 13, 1950, in Ephrata, PA. He was the beloved husband of Sandy K. Glass for 53 years. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Tonya Jones, married to Rodney, and son, Dallas E. Glass III, married to Saidah. Dallas was also a proud “Papa” to seven grandchildren: Dallas IV, Justin, Myra, Sean, Quinn, Kati, and Wesley. Dallas is also remembered as a father figure to Travis Williams married to Jasmine and Thomas Newton married to Cheyenne, who were like sons to him and his family. He also cherished his extended grandchildren: Triston, Abigail, Elliott, Presley, Amelia, and Scarlett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dallas E. Glass Sr., his mother, Verna Evelyn Glass, and his sisters, Janet, Doris, and Annabelle. He is survived by his brothers, Eddie, Elwood, and his sister, Shirley.
Dallas proudly served in the U.S. Army as part of the Airborne Infantry, completing two tours in Vietnam. After his military service, Dallas felt called to the ministry and attended Bible college in Lexington, Kentucky. Upon returning to Delaware, he founded and served as pastor at London Village Baptist Chapel for over 30 years. Alongside his pastoral duties, Dallas utilized his skills as a custom home builder. Later, he transitioned to farming, raising pigs and chickens for 30 years. Throughout his life, Dallas dedicated himself to serving others and sharing his faith.
Dallas had a deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren, and cherished the time he spent with them. He enjoyed the peaceful tranquility of his pond, where he loved caring for his fish, and was an avid observer of birds and wildlife. In his free time, Dallas enjoyed attending auctions. Dallas was a man that truly loved the Lord and he was very passionate about the Word of God. He was a dedicated supporter of the Gideon’s International, contributing to their mission of distributing Bibles worldwide.
Dallas will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of faith, love for his family, and service to others will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Southside Baptist Church, 4904 S. DuPont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901. Visitation will be from 10 a.m., with the service to follow.
