Cornelia Connie Barbetta's Obituary
Cornelia Arias Esquierdo Barbetta passed away on June 16, 2026.
Born on March 19, 1940, in Guiuan Samar, Philippines, Cornelia lived a life centered on God, family, and dedication to those she held dear.
Cornelia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas James Barbetta. Together they built a loving family and shared many years of cherished memories.
She is survived by her four children: Michael Barbetta, Timothy Barbetta, Janice Barbetta, and Deanna Winder.
She was a proud grandmother to Justin Barbetta, Andrew Barbetta and wife Kristina, Karlee and husband Jason Phan, Miranda and husband Jared Brown, Nelia Nuss, and Emily Barbetta and husband Jake Heyer.
Cornelia was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Elliot Barbetta, Michael Heyer, Dominic Barbetta, and Penelope Brown, who brought her great joy and pride.
Outside of her immediate family, she leaves behind her sister Deang Stanley and husband Mark, Cousin Rosita Tan, Pat Shaw, and Nelia Javellana-Angel and son in-law Wayland Winder.
No matter where military life took her, Cornelia remained dedicated to serving others, volunteering her time through her church and within the communities where she lived.
Cornelia’s greatest accomplishment and source of happiness was her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through the family she cherished and the love she shared throughout her life.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Cross Church on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at noon.
Followed by a private burial on June 26, 2026 at the Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Bear, DE.
