Christy Diane Cale's Obituary
Christy Diane Cale, 69, of Magnolia, DE, went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2023.
Christy was born January 25, 1954 in West Virginia and lovingly adopted by her parents Reverend Ellis and Ruth Horton. She grew up in Washington, Pennsylvania and moved to Delaware as a teen, graduating from Dover High School. She went on to get her BA in Speech/Psychology at Eastern Nazarene College where she met the love of her life, Bruce W. Cale. She later earned her Master’s degree from Eastern Nazarene College in Education.
Christy helped shape many young lives as an elementary educator in Massachusetts and Delaware. She worked 20 years for Delaware State University as an Administrative Secretary where she took a personal interest in the students and was loved by students and peers alike.
Christy loved to laugh and spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and had a special love for Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Dover Cross Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed fellowship there. She loved reading, shopping, dinner out with friends and her pets, Shadow and Bella. But above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Christy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bruce W. Cale; sons, Christopher M. Cale (wife Laurie) and Ryan D. Cale (wife Katie); sister, Mary Eberhardt; and grandchildren, Kaylee E. Cale and Zachary J. Hoddinott.
Services will be held at The Cross Church of the Nazarene in Dover, DE, Saturday April 22nd. Visitation will be from 10-12pm with a service to follow at noon. Burial will be private.
