Christopher Adam Balcerak's Obituary
Christopher Adam Balcerak (Chris), 60, passed away on November 1st, 2023, in Dover, Delaware after a courageous year long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Chris was born on December 2nd, 1962 , in Smyrna, Tennessee. He is the beloved son of David and Veronica Balcerak of Dover, Delaware.
Chris is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Balcerak, and a sister, Theresa Regan. He is survived by his wife Tammy of Dover, Delaware and four sons: Christopher of North Carolina, Joshua, of Dover Delaware, Jordan, of North Carolina, and Todd of Dover, Delaware. He was also blessed with four grandchildren: Skyler, Danni, Christopher, and Wesley. He had a close bond with his siblings: Michael Balcerak, of Dover, De., Stephen Balcerak (Stacy) of Willow Grove, Pa, Tom Balcerak (Sandy), of Mardela Springs, Md., John Balcerak (Elaine), of Dover, De., David Balcerak (Denise), of Smyrna, De., Beth Griffith (Rob), of Felton, De., Mary Sheppard (Jeremy), of Magnolia, De., Anthony Balcerak (April), of Clayton, De., Angela Bonnie (Jeffrey), of Dover, De. Chris is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Chris was a faithful dog owner, and his companion, Abby, brought him much joy.
Chris graduated from Dover High School in 1981 and spent numerous summers as a lifeguard at Middlesex Beach, in Delaware. He joined the United States Air Force in 1986 where he dedicated 22 years of his life, retiring as a Master Sergeant. During his time in the service, Chris showcased his athleticism as a basketball player on the Air Force team. This was a testament to his dedication and commitment to his military associations.
After retiring from the Air Force, Chris embarked on a career with the Boilermakers Union where he made valuable contributions. He was admired for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication.
Chris was a man of deep faith and held a special place in his heart for God. He cherished his family and had a profound love for his Philadelphia sports teams. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His huge heart and love for all people will be remembered and cherished. May he rest in peace, knowing that his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. Following a private viewing for family at 4pm, friends are invited to pay their respects Friday, November 10th, 2023 at Trader Funeral Home from 5-7pm. Trader Funeral Home is located at 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE.
Requiem Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, Dover, De. December 5th, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
Following Mass, burial will take place at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery , 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, De., December 5th, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
