Charles Robert Grigsby's Obituary
Charles Robert Grigsby, known by his friends as “Bob”, 64, of Cheswold, passed away peacefully, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. He was born in Seaford, Delaware on October 11th, 1959, the son of the late Virgil R. Grigsby, Jr. and Ethel Marie Wiley Grigsby.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1977. Bob, known by his crew as “G”, was a self-employed mason contractor, owning and running Grigsby Concrete and Masonry, Inc. for over thirty years. He will be greatly missed by his beloved, hard-working crew and fellow masons: Timmy Brown, Steve Watson, Bell, David Dill, Charlie Wooleyhand, and Henry Lasslle. His passion was driving to Philadelphia in his 2000 Mustang, named “Midnight”, to watch his beloved Phillies. He also enjoyed rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, and 76ers.
Bob was preceded in death by his elder brother, Virgil Russell Grigsby, who died in 2020.
He is survived by his cousin, Diana Grigsby Scherger, and her husband, Dave, as well as extended family members and devoted friends, including Judy Mullan, Theresa Robbins, her son, Tristan, John Masten, Cathy Brown, her son, Timmy, and her daughter, Kimber Sauer.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, in Dover, followed by interment at Lakeside Cemetery, in Dover. Friends may call from 11 AM to 12 PM.
