Charles W Evans' Obituary
Charles W. Evans, 88, Dover, passed away Sunday March 29, 2015 at his home in Dover.
He was born on June 10, 1926 in Maysville, WV to the late Burton and Mamie Amtower Evans, Sr.
Charles at an early age was a constable for the City of Keyser, WV. He was in the Army with service in the Korean war. He moved to Flint, MI and attended the General Motors Institute, it lead him to General Motors Service Parts Operations. He then excepted a job transfer to the sale force team. He served in the Eastern Region for 41 years at General Motors. He transported cars for dealerships until the age of 84. He was a long time member of Maple Dale Country Club. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Grand Blanc, MI. One of his highlights was the General Motors sponsorship of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. In his last year with General Motors he was Grand Marshal at Dover International Speedway Dover. Thank you Uncle Charlie for all you have given with fond memory's of Entenmann's chocolate chip cookies.
He is survived by Nephew and his wife, Charles B. and Linda Evans, Great nepehew and his wife, Christopher and Katrinia Evans, Great nieces, Tonya and Danille Evans, Shirley Mclain, Great great nepehews, Cooper Evans, Scott and Charlie Mackey, Great great Nieces, Delaney, and Mya Grace, Evans, and Brandon Mclain. Services will be held Thursday 04/02/2015 5:30 PM at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE
Friends may call from 3 PM to 6 PM at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in WV. Letters of condolences may be sent to [email protected]
