Cathleen Maureen Davison's Obituary
Cathleen Maureen Bernadette Flynn Davison left this life to fly with the Angels on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. She exited this world as she entered it — enveloped in love, and surrounded by her extended family.
Cathleen was born in Liverpool, England on June 17, 1937. She was a city girl who loved God, the Catholic Church, and the Holy Mass. She idolized the Blessed Mother and made daily devotions to St Bernedette of Lourdes. She may have entered the convent had she not met and married the young American Airman, Ernest Claude Davison, Jr., who was stationed in Liverpool at the time.
Together they moved to the States, settling in Dover, Delaware, where they raised their four children —Ernest Claude Davison III, Julianne Tracey Davison, James Patrick Davison, and Lewis Drexel Davison.
Cathleen was a loving mother to her children and their spouses, and her six grandchildren.
Cathleen was a most lovely Lady, an exquisite human being, and her beauty both internally and externally filled every room. She was adored by all who met her. She loved people and joyfully greeted everyone with a big, bright smile, always accompanied with a genuine compliment.
Cathleen was kind, caring and compassionate. She was as grateful as she was giving. She truly was an Angel on this Earth, and all who knew her have been blessed by her presence.
Cathleen is survived by her beloved Sister, Julia Flynn Bruder (and family), of Liverpool, England.
As she would want it, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 8th at 12pm, with interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Cathleen with a donation to St. Jude’s or Shriners Hospital, as she loved children. Donations may also be made to Delaware Hospice, as they too are Angels on Earth. 🕊️
