Carolyn Ruth Palacio's Obituary
Carolyn Ruth Palacio, 81, of Felton, DE passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Feb. 14, 2026. Born on May 11, 1944, in Beckley, WV, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Rita B. McDaniel of Grandview. A woman of dedication and hard work, Carlyn retired from Kraft General Foods after 25 years of service. Carlyn's hands were rarely still; she was a talented crafter who found peace in crocheting and knitting. However, her greatest masterpieces were the relationships she built with her family. While she cherished every moment with her children and grandchildren, her biggest joys in her final years were the moments spent with her three youngest great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Charlotte Cassitty of Crab Orchard, WV, and Donna Delli-Gatti of Beckley, WN. She is survived by a loving and extensive family: Son Christopher Seward and his wife, Judy of Harrington, DE. Daughter; Debra Stiles and her husband Samuel of Felton, DE. Son: Robert Seward and his wife Tammi of Maryville, TN. Grandchildren: Amanda Stratman Norris and her husband, Jared of Frederica, DE; Danielle Evans and her husband Jason of Magnolia, DE; Cody Seward of Maryville, Tn; Victoria Seward of Maryville, TN; Stephen Stiles and family, currently stationed in CA; and Miranda Holland of MD. Great Grandchildren: Samantha Ward, Justin Ward, Addison Norris, Aubrey Norris, and William Evans. Brother: Douglas McDaniel and his wife Joan of Crab Orchard, WV. In accordance with Caroln's wishes, she will be cremated. Due to the sudden nature of her passing, the family has chosen to mourn privately at this time. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date, where friends and family can gather to share stories and remember the warmth she brought to so many lives. "To live in hearts, we leave behind is not to die."
