Carl DeFrancesco's Obituary
Carl DeFrancesco passed away peacefully at Bayhealth Hospital surrounded by his family on Friday, May 14, 2021. Carl was born December 6, 1933 in Altoona, PA to the late Salvatore and Mary Frances(Cerminaro) DeFrancesco. Carl was a Veteran of the United States Air Force for 20 years retiring in 1973. Carl served his country during the Vietnam War doing a tour of duty in Pleiku from 1969 to 1970. Following his retirement from the Military Carl went on to work and retire from Brunswick Corporation. Carl was a avid sports fan, truly a diehard passionate Notre Dame and Pittsburg Steelers Fan. He also played baseball during his High School years and while in the Air Force played Fast Pitch Softball for the base team, The DAFB Red Devils. Carl was proceeded in death by his wife Marlene DeFrancesco, his grand daughter Alexis DeFrancesco, and eight siblings. Adelia Ross, Rose McGuire, Joe DeFrancesco, Lou DeLacruz, Frank DeFrancesco, Pat DeFrancesco, Anthony DeFrancesco, and Sam DeFrancesco. Carl is survived by four children, Carlene Ann(Rick) Myers, Mary Frances(Jim) Voss, Keith(Anthie) DeFrancesco, and Scott DeFrancesco, nine grand children and seven great grand children, a sister Mary Leisure, and a host of nieces and nephews. Due to safety and health concerns services will be held at the convenience of the family, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Church.
