Candace S. Cottrell's Obituary
Candace Suzanne Cottrell of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025.
She was 58 years old.
Candace was born on November 29,1966, to Paul and Joy Cottrell of Dover, DE. She grew
up in Wyoming, Delaware where she graduated from Caesar Rodney High School. After
graduation, she attended Delaware State University where she received a bachelor’s
degree in education.
Candace is survived by her daughter, Alyssa Andrae, her father, Paul, her stepmother,
Denise, and two brothers, Andrew, and Christopher. She is also survived by numerous
aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother, Joy Cottrell.
Candace was full of life and energy. She had a smile that could light up a room, and people
loved spending time with her. She laughed a lot, and her laughter was contagious. Her
humor and zest for life will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
Candace spent several years working as a realtor. She enjoyed meeting new people and
helping them with their goal of finding the right home. Later in life, she worked in a
landscaping and tree removal business where she once again derived satisfaction in
helping others.
A private memorial service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
