Beulah Mae Wood's Obituary
Beulah Mae Wood of Marydel, DE passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born on April 12, 1931 in Wilkesboro, NC, the daughter of James Henry Hayes and Esther Felts Hayes. Beulah was a member of Fairplains Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro, NC and she was a regular attendee of Grace Presbyterian Church in Dover, DE.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl, and her daughter, Janet. Beulah is survived by her two sons, Glenn (Bonnie) and Ronald (Regina) Wood. She had six grandchildren: Pamela Balentine, Steven Wood, Angela Kelley, Rebecca Thomas, Robert Wood and Brian Wood. She has eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Beulah enjoyed traveling and visiting with her two loving sisters: Aline of Millers Creek, NC and Rowena (Ray) of Reno, NV. She had a kind and loving heart for animals, birds and anyone in need. She was an avid seamstress, gardener, cook and baker. Beulah loved her family and friends dearly and always had a seat at her table for anyone who was alone on the holidays.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Amedisys Compassionate Care Hospice, with a special thanks to Nurses Cheryl and Mara.
Trader Funeral Home will oversee services on Thursday November 14, 2024 at Grace Presbyterian Church located at 350 McKee Road. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, with the service at 11:00am. Following the service, interment will be at Sharon Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church and/or Amedisys Compassionate Care Hospice.
