Beulah M. Bell's Obituary
Beulah May (Hartnett) Bell, age 96, passed away peacefully at Eden Hill Rehabilitation Center on September 9, 2024. She was born on November 26, 1927 and lived her entire life in Kent County Delaware. Beulah was the daughter of the late Robert and Daisey (Legar) Hartnett.
She worked in her younger years helping her parents at the Dover Laundromat. In 1947 she married the love of her life, the late John (Jack) L. Bell, Jr. After her marriage she worked at Richardson and Robbins and later Nichols Discount City.
Beulah loved going camping at Picway Park where Jack and her, would listen to country music. They loved driving the Skyline Drive. Beulah loved to play bingo and enjoyed the game for the friendships that developed and yelling bingo. For the past 12 years, Beulah resided at Luther Towers in Dover and it provided her endless joy and happiness.
Beulah was the oldest of nine children. Beulah loved spending time with her family, planning a barbeque, and was known to all the grandchildren as “mom mom.” After “great-grandchildren” were born they re-named her “old mom mom” and she wore her new name with pride.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the loving husband, Jack in 2005; brothers: Robert, William, Richard, and Ronald and sisters: Rose Mary, and Betty
She is survived by her daughter Diane Spencer, Dover, son & daughter-in-law, John and Peggy Bell, Dover, grandson & wife Christopher and Mindy Spencer, Arizona, granddaughter Jennifer Spencer, Dover, granddaughter Nicole and Matthew Wilson, Dover, and great-grandchildren Jake (Lauren), Christian (Lauren), Xavier (Jeanette), Brittany (Kenna), Remington, and Gauge and great-great-grandchildren Violet, Bethany, and Archer; and Sister, Beverly Mildrice, Mississippi and Pat Benjamin, Dover, and numerous cousins and loving friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Eden Hill Rehab for their care with special thanks to Michelle and Toni. Additional, thanks to Vitas Hospice for the excellent care they provided, especially Kim and Giffy for their endless calls and visits.
Visitation will be held at Trader’s Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE 19904 on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 10:30 to 12:00 noon. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Beulah’s memory to Luther Towers, 430 Kings Hwy, Dover, DE 19901.
