Betsy Lou Alexander's Obituary
Betsy Lou Friese Alexander, 78, of Finksburg, died unexpectedly, Monday, September 30th at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware.
She was born on December 25, 1934 in Baltimore, the daughter of the late Luther C. and Betty Flater Friese. She was the loving wife of Robert E. Alexander of over 55 years, whom she married June 7, 1958.
She was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1953. She was a homemaker, and also worked at AAA and retired in 1989 from Sandymount Elementary School cafeteria after working there for 20 years. She also worked for Rill's Bus Service.
She was a life member of Sandy Mount United Methodist Church. She was a life member and past president of Reese Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary for 36 years where she held office for 30 years and served as a Delegate at conventions. She was also a member of the Carroll County Ladies Auxiliary, and the Carroll County Republican Club. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, reading, decorating for the holidays and spending time and attending events with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are sons Jeffrey R. Alexander of Westminster and Gregory L. Alexander of Harrington, Delaware, and daughter Kimberly D. Alexander of Clearville, Pennsylvania. Grandchildren Gregory Jr., Erika, Ryan, and Patrick Alexander; sisters Patricia Selvey of Reisterstown and Bonnie Dubel of Churchville, Maryland.
The family will receive friends at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Please use the chapel entrance.
Funeral services will be at Sandy Mount United Methodist Church, Finksburg on Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bill Boyer and Rev. Bob Wellman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sandy Mount United Methodist Church, 2101 Old Westminster Pike, Westminster MD, 21048.
