Bessie Matthews' Obituary
Bessie Matthews, 96 passed away peacefully on July 16th 2017. She was a resident of Union NJ for 40 years, later settling in Dover DE.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Matthews who passed in 1993. Loving mother of Patricia Matthews (Jim Nickerson) and Mary Riordan (Michael). Loving grandmother of Joseph Burns (Maria), Raymond Burns (Laurie), Sean O’Riordan (Tami) and Megan Donelan (Randy Moran). Loving great-grandmother of Sarah Burns, Kyle Burns, Devon Burns, Dillon Burns, Liam Donelan, Layla Newman, Sean O’ Riordan Jr. and Sky O’Riordan and dear sister of Vincent Sabatino (Frances). Bessie is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Thursday July 20th from 9-10 AM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave. Union NJ 07083. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Holy Spirit Church, Union. Followed by Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rahway.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bessie’s memory to the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Ave. Dover DE 19904.
