Our dear, loving Mom, Grandma and Sister passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 7, 2023. Barbara met and married the love of her life, David L. Green of Oakfield, NY on August 14, 1954. David was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Barbara soon joined him there and she immediately volunteered at a local church, teaching Sunday School and playing the piano. They lived with a local German family and Barbara helped many newly arriving soldiers find housing with the locals. They had many cherished memories of their time in Germany.
In 1959, Barbara and David returned to Batavia and were soon blessed with a daughter, Rebecca Faith. In 1963, David's job with JELLO Co. transferred them to Dover, DE. Barbara's first job was with Delaware State News as a proofreader until she could go back to Nursing. She was then a Librarian at the Frederica School where she loved to read to the children. There she met two special girls, Charupin LeMin and Charuporn Robinson who came to live at Barbara and David's home. They were special to her and loved much. She would return to the migrant camps with clothes and toys for the kids.

She worked in Public Health for over 26 years and loved all the children she worked with. She worked as a Nurse until she was 81 years old and reluctantly retired.
Barbara taught Sunday School from the time she was 10 years old and has loved all the kids. Coming from a Methodist background, when Barbara and David came to Dover they wanted to find a church home. They went to the Church of the Nazarene and were welcomed by Marie and Paul Clendaniel and Jean and Dave Krutenat and their families. Barbara was a Sunday School teacher at the now Cross Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years, working many years side by side with her dear friend, Bonnie Graves.
Barbara loved music and sang in the church choir as well as playing the piano and organ. Barbara and David went on a Work and Witness missionary trip to Ecuador. While in the jungle Barbara loved teaching the children and washing clothes on a rock. During the Coronavirus, Barbara loved getting newsletters from her brother Billy's church. These newsletters from Pastor Doc Casey of the Cheswold Charge Methodist Church in Cheswold, DE were copied and mailed by Barbara to more than 20 homebound people who loved receiving them.
