Trader Funeral Home Inc was
founded by Roland P. Trader and his wife Grace T. Trader in 1953.
Roland, was graduate of Eckels Mortuary School in
Philadelphia.
The first funeral home was
locates near Kent General Hospital at 803 South State Street in Dover.
They has two son's that share the same birthday, but two
years apart (April 1).
The present funeral home has
been at the same location since 1955, (12Lotus Street), with several updates
over the years.
In 1976 the family business grew when the son's Thomas (Tom)
and Ross became Delaware licensed Funeral Directors in 1976.
They were later followed by Roland wife Grace became a licensed
Funeral Director in 1980.
Tom and Ross
became licensed Funeral Director in Maryland in 1988.
Both Tom and Ross are graduate of Cincinnati College of
Mortuary Science.
In 1994 the passing of Roland, the Roland P. Trader
Scholarship Award was establish for the Kent County Volunteer Firefighters
Association.
In 1998 the passing of Grace the son's are continuing the
family business.
In 2002 Exemplary Service
Bronze Award was given, by the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR).
The funeral home are members of NFDA, OGR, The Central Delaware
Chamber of Commerce. Delmarva Funeral Director
Association.
Tom and Ross graduate form Dover High School, are life member of Robbins Hose Fire Company / Dover Fire Department.
Ross, is married they have two
daughters and son-in-laws with four grandchildren, he enjoys, hunting, fishing for
tuna, football, NASCAR, shooting sporting clay, traveling to
see his grandchildren.
Tom is a member of the Delaware Auctioneer Association, married have 2 stepsons, and 3 step grandchildren. Enjoys bowling, hunting, shooting skeet, and sporting clay's.

Tom is a member of the Delaware Auctioneer Association, married have 2 stepsons, and 3 step grandchildren. Enjoys bowling, hunting, shooting skeet, and sporting clay's.
