Judy Lee Jones Harrington Delaware Born June 23rd 1940 in Lewistown Pennsylvania passed away September 23rd 2021 at the Milford Hospice Center from a stroke suffered at home a week earlier. Judy was preceded in death by her mother and father Jean and Robert Hetrick, a brother Thomas Hetrick, a daughter Tracy Jones, her husband of 59 years William R. Jones, and by a grandson Dylan Jones. She is survived by her sons and daughter in laws Kevin and Carol Jones, Rodney and Roberta Jones. Three grand kids Derek(Lori), Brent, and Brooke Jones, and two great granddaughters Bliss and Ella Jones. Judy was known as Memaw to her grands and will be greatly missed. Judy was in the Kishacoquillas High School 1958 inaugural graduating class. After graduating Judy began working for the Prudential insurance corporation in Harrisburg Pennsylvania and did so through 1963 when Judy and Bill moved to Delmar Delaware. At that time Judy set up shop as household manager. Bill and Judy moved to Smyrna Delaware in 1970. Judy re-entered the workforce in 1978 when her husband was in the hospital for two years. She worked some temporary jobs including office manager of William R. Jones and Sons. Eventually she semi-retired as the Accountant of Masten Lumber when that company folded. This is when Judy started her favorite working environment at the Mamie Warren Senior Center in Kenton Delaware. Bill and Judy cared for her mother Jean until death. Shortly after the pair embarked on an adventure that lead them to move to Elkins West Virginia in 2006. There Judy worked at the Randolph County Senior Center in Elkins West Virginia. Judy finally retired in 2013 when Bill and her moved to Harrington Delaware. Judy had many hobbies over the years. Boating on the Chesapeake Bay, gardening and canning, camping, crafting which included knitting hats for the homeless and cancer patients. She loved football following college power houses Penn State and West Virginia. She rooted for the old Baltimore Colts and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She also followed professional Hockey rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Her funeral is Saturday October 2nd 2021 at Trader Funeral Home located at 12 Lotus Street Dover Delaware Visitors can come from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. A service will follow.
