James M. Rodimak, 92 Hartly ---- James M. Rodimak passed away on December 13, 2016. He was born September 14, 1924 in New York City, New York. The son of Stephen and Anna Rodimak. His family moved to Marydel, Maryland in 1930. He joined the Army in 1943 where he was assigned to the 314th Infantry, 79th Infantry Division. He was taken prisoner on January 20, 1945, where he would remain a POW until the end of WWII. After returning from the war, he lived in Collegeville, Pennsylvannia where he meant and later married Mary E. Kromka. They returned to Marydel, Maryland and later moved to Hartly, Delaware. James had three small businesses throughout his life. He was the owner and operator of Rodimak Inc, a plumbing company. He ran Val-Mar Printing a small printing company. In his 80's James started Rodimak and Fran, a out of home custom framing business. He had a love for building things and creating unusual and different projects, which he would display in his yard. He held various offices and helped create the Junior Fireman program for teenagers as a member of The Marydel Volunteer Fire Company. He was a lifetime member of The Hartly Volunteer Fire Company in which he held various offices. James was community minded and loved both towns. James was active in the Republican party where he and his wife Mary were both commitee. He was honored to cast an electorial vote for the State of Delaware when Barry Goldwater ran for President. In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary E. Rodimak, and a brother Stephen Rodinak. He is survived by his daughters, Reviva Ann Rodimak, Frances K. Callaway both of Hartly, Brenda Leigh Wingle and husband Joseph of Dover, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and 6 nieces and nephews. A veiwing will be held at 3:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday, December 18, 2016, with a memorial service at 11:00am on Monday, December 19, 2016, with a veiwing an hour before, at The Marydel Volunteer Fire Company. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to either Marydel Volunteer Fire Company or Hartly Volunteer Fire Company in recognition for all they do for their communities.
