Trader Funeral Home, Inc. in Dover Delaware, is a family owned business, founded in 1953 by Roland P. Trader. In 1976, his sons Thomas and Ross Trader joined the family firm and became licensed funeral directors in Delaware and Maryland.

They were soon followed by Roland’s wife Grace Trader in 1980. Since Roland’s death in 1994, the family has carried on the business with an average of 160 funerals per year in the town of about 35,000 people.

The funeral home includes a selection room with 18 caskets, an urn display and vault display, as well as seating for 190 people. In 1994 a new 16’ x 32’ prep room and dressing room were added to the home.

The Staff includes two licensed funeral directors in Delaware and Maryland. They also employ two full-time employees and two part-time employees for removals and other funeral work that is needed.
